How to Get Online Tutoring Jobs

If you’ve got a college degree or are already a state-certified teacher, earn extra money by serving as an online tutor at your convenience. Online tutoring jobs allow you to put your education and teaching experience to good use, set your own work schedule and earn a living when you’re off work or between jobs. Consider these tips to help get online tutoring jobs.

Instructions
Step 1
Look for companies with requirements that match your qualifications to get online tutoring jobs. While some online tutoring services like MyTutor24.com require years of teaching or tutoring experience along with an undergraduate degree, others like TutorVista.com and OnlineLearning.net ask for a degree and professional experience or knowledge in the subject matter you want to tutor.
Step 2
Consider the company’s training and commitment requirements when choosing an online tutoring job. While some tutor jobs offer complete control over work hours, some like Aim4a.com also ask you to accommodate time zones from Europe and Australia, for example. Other companies like Tutor.com ask for a minimum commitment of five hours a week during specific hours that will accommodate most students.
Step 3
Look for an online tutoring job to put your area of expertise to goods use. Some companies specialize in online math tutoring for elementary age students, for example, while others cater to high school-level writing and literature analysis or science subjects like chemistry or biology.
Step 4
Research each company’s history before signing up or divulging any personal information to apply for online tutoring jobs. Although you’ll need to purchase your own equipment to serve as an online tutor (like a computer, wireless headset and Internet connection), reputable companies won’t require you to pay fees for starter kits or job and client listings. Search for potential employers through the Better Business Bureau or on websites like Scam.com to uncover a fraudulent track record.
Step 5
Apply to become an online tutor with the company you’ve chosen. To get some online tutoring jobs like those with UniversalClass.com or eHomeworkHelp.com, you’ll need to fill out an online application and enclose a resume. Other services, like SmartThinking.com, ask for an emailed cover letter, resume and references.
Step 6
Make yourself stand out among other applicants by outlining your qualifications in your cover letter, including any previous teaching or tutoring experience. If you’re hoping to land an online math tutoring job, for instance, discuss any math-related projects you’ve completed or classes you’ve taken that will show your level of expertise.

Tips for share traders for making money in day trading

1. Remember to use the stop loss efficiently while day trading.

2. If the stock market is trading in positive direction as compared to the previous day and one is short in a stock, than one can safely close the open position. The same is true other way also i.e. if one is long in a stock overnight and stock market is trading in positive as compared to previous close, than one can contemplate buying additional quantity of stock.

3. Benefit being contrarians in day trading in share market.

4. If the stock market is trading in a negative direction than remember to go short in the stocks which are trading in negative side and do not go short in those stocks which are trading in positive direction.

5. Remember not to go by pre-conceived notions and an example of the same is that it is not necessary that a stock which is weak today during intraday trading might be weak tomorrow also and vice versa is also true.

6. Monitor the overseas market because if US Markets have gone up overnight, than it is very high probability that Indian markets will open strong. One can check the rates of Indian ADR Prices and can thus benefit in Indian stock market by virtue of reliable information. However one has to be careful when buying stocks as the general psychology of public is to buy when good news is there. Thus Research for Indian stocks is of utmost importance.

7. Remember the guru mantra of trading in liquid stocks i.e. stocks with high volume because it provides an easy entry and exit in stocks.

8. One can undertake the paper trading before testing the day trading in actuality. However remember that to make money in paper and making money in actuality are two different things as paper trading lacks the emotion aspect.

9. Trade with a constant volume and do not get exuberated by gains achieved.

10. As a new trader one should trade with quantity of stocks which is manageable. Initially make constant endeavor to keep the fear and greed under rein else you will have lot of tension.

How to Have a Great Conversation with Anyone

Conversation GroupThe art of conversation takes practice, and is not as hard as you might think. It will take some knowledge, practice, and patience, and you can learn to relax and enjoy a great conversation.
With these tips you will be well on your way to having a good, meaningful and entertaining conversation with anyone!

  1. Make a good first impression. Smile, ask questions that require more than a yes/no answer, and really listen. Maintain eye contact and keep as friendly and polite as possible.
  2. Listen. This is the most important part of any conversation. You might think a conversation is all about talking, but it will not go anywhere if the listener is too busy thinking of something to say next. Pay attention to what is being said. When you talk to the other person, injecting a thought or two, they will often not realize that it was they who did most of the talking, and you get the credit for being a good conversationalist - which of course, you are!
  3. Find out what the other person is interested in. You can even do some research in advance when you know you will have an opportunity to talk with a specific person. Complimenting them is a great place to start. Everyone likes sincere compliments, and that can be a great ice-breaker.
  4. Ask questions. What do they like to do? What sort of things have they done in their life? What is happening to them now? What did they do today or last weekend? Identify things about them that you might be interested in hearing about, and politely ask questions. Remember, there was a reason that you wanted to talk to them, so obviously there was something about them that you found interesting.
  5. Forget yourself. Dale Carnegie once said, “It’s much easier to become interested in others than it is to convince them to be interested in you.” If you are too busy thinking about yourself, what you look like, or what the other person might be thinking, you will never be able to relax. Introduce yourself, shake hands, then forget yourself and focus on them instead.
  6. Practice active listening skills. Part of listening is letting the other person know that you are listening. Make eye contact. Nod. Say “Yes,” “I see,” “That’s interesting,” or something similar to give them clues that you are paying attention and not thinking about something else - such as what you are going to say next.
  7. Ask clarifying questions. If the topic seems to be one they are interested in, ask them to clarify what they think or feel about it. If they are talking about an occupation or activity you do not understand, take the opportunity to learn from them. Everyone loves having a chance to teach another willing and interested person about their hobby or subject of expertise.
  8. Paraphrase back what you have heard, using your own words. This seems like an easy skill to learn, but takes some practice to master. Conversation happens in turns, each person taking a turn to listen and a turn to speak or to respond. It shows respect for the other person when you use your “speaking turn” to show you have been listening and not just to say something new. They then have a chance to correct your understanding, affirm it, or embellish on it.
  9. Consider your response before disagreeing. If the point was not important, ignore it rather than risk appearing argumentative. If you consider it important then politely point out your difference of opinion. Do not disagree merely to set yourself apart, but remember these points:
    • It is the differences in people–and their conversation–that make them interesting.
    • Agreeing with everything can kill a conversation just as easily as disagreeing with everything.
    • A person is interesting when they are different from you; a person is obnoxious when they can not agree with anything you say, or if they use the point to make themselves appear superior.
    • Try to omit the word “but” from your conversation when disagreeing as this word often puts people on the defensive. Instead, try substituting the word “and”, it has less of an antagonistic effect.
  10. Consider playing devil’s advocate - which requires care. If your conversation partner makes a point, you can keep the conversation going by bringing up the opposite point of view (introduce it with something like “I agree, and…”). If you overuse this technique, however, you could end up appearing disagreeable or even hostile.
  11. Do not panic over lulls. This is a point where you could easily inject your thoughts into the discussion. If the topic seems to have run out, use the pause to think for a moment and identify another conversation topic or question to ask them. Did something they said remind you of something else you have heard, something that happened to you, or bring up a question or topic in your mind? Mention it and you’ll transition smoothly into further conversation!
  12. Know when the conversation is over. Even the best conversations will eventually run out of steam or be ended by an interruption. Shake hands with the other person and be sure to tell them you enjoyed talking with them. Ending on a positive note will leave a good impression and likely bring them back later for more!

Warnings

  • Choose carefully when asking personal questions. You do not want to venture into overly personal issues. Even if the other person might be willing to talk about it, you may end up learning things that you really do not want to know. You certainly do not want the other person to think afterward that you coerced them into revealing personal information.
  • Be sincere! Compliments are great, but too much flattery is obvious and will reveal you as being insincere.
  • Beware of topics that can be inflammatory - such as religion and politics - and don’t venture into them unless you know the person has roughly the same convictions as you, or the circumstances otherwise allow for pleasant discussion. Again, it’s fine to disagree and can be nice to talk about differences, but it can also be a quick step toward an argument.
  • Try not to argue! You do not have to agree with everything someone says, but you do not have to tell them all about how you disagree. If you feel the need to explain an opposing viewpoint, express it simply and without putting the other person on the defensive. It is better to simply change the subject in a casual conversation than to get involved in an argument.
  • Try not to nod or respond with “Yes” and “I see” so much. It might make the person think you are bored and sometimes it may seem like you are rushing them along. Never say anything hurtful or offensive to the other person, this may project a bad feeling between you.
  • If it is a planned conversation, try listening to the news in case you run out of thing to say, it is always a good solution.
  • Also try not to cut the person off mid-sentence. It seems disrespectful and it makes it seem like what you have to say is more important than what the other person has to say. Let the person finish their thoughts and then continue on with thoughts of your own.

How to Argue Effectively & Win

It can be difficult for people to get their point across without hurting one another in the process. Here are some tips for effectively resolving a problem by stating your views, while being collected and reasonable. Also included are tips on winning an argument.

Stay calm & Keep a steady low tone. The energy you give off is usually picked up on by the other person; if you are calm they sense you mean no harm and relax more. Even if you get emotional, try to keep your dignity and don’t lash out unexpectedly. Also consider your tone of voice; try to keep a steady, low tone and volume, not fluctuating to much in speed and sound. Try to sound as relaxed as possible and avoid high-pitched sounds. Also consider your body language: have a good firm posture that makes your feel powerful but not aggressive.

Don’t insult the other person. Avoid to, in any way, say something that might be taken as an insult. When people are angry they are much more sensitive and will take even the smallest comment as an insult.

Express that you are willing to listen to the other person and respect them. Even though you might not agree with what the other person is saying you need to remember that they might feel just as strongly about their views as you do about yours.

Be reasonable. The outcome of the argument might not be exactly what you wanted, but never expect to get everything you want.

Don’t let it last too long, the argument degrades if it’s held out.
Allow each person to speak and make their point.

Set healthy boundaries. If the person with whom you are arguing is angry, obnoxious or verbally abusive, should you really be interacting with them? It may be better to walk away.
If the argument is with a clerk, salesperson, etc. ask to speak with their supervisor. If a supervisor isn’t immediately available, get a phone number.

Winning an Argument -

  • Think about the possible arguments for and against your side, and the opposite side. If there is any major weakness in your argument, you must fill it before coming to a confrontation with the opposition, or risk losing the argument.
  • Identify any major pitfalls your opponent can step into. A gentle nudge here and there to get them to make some sort of fallacious statement that allows you to close the bear trap is psychologically damaging and can win an argument on the spot. Also try to take each argument to its logical conclusion.
  • Always take full advantage of any illogicality or fallacy in your opponent’s argument. Return any illogical points with as many relevant logical facts as possible, to completely quash their point. If this is not possible, take their point and use it in your favor logically.
  • It’s always possible to lose an argument, especially if your argument has major weaknesses. Accept it if that's the case. However, arguments do sometimes come to standoffs, where no side is stronger than the other and nobody wins or loses. when this happens, learn to leave the argument as nothing can be gained by continuing to confront your opponent. When this happens, don’t lose control or get desperate.

Things to Keep in Mind - Agreement with Builders

Once you have identified the house that you want to buy, got the home loan approved and now are ready to own your house. Think its smooth sailing from here onwards? Think again. Once you have completed these formalities, the next part is ensuring that the builder does not entangle you in any legal traps. There are some very important points to consider when you are about to enter into an agreement with the developer. Let’s take a look at 5 such points you need to remember and the measures you can take against them.

Point 1 - Actual price of the house
The agreement you enter in with the builder details the various costs that you will need to bear for buying the house. This would include the cost for utilities like electricity and water, parking space, various taxes and in some cases even the registration charges. However, the builder may then levy some extra charges for any of these.

Measures to take
  • Check the agreement very carefully for all the charges applicable.
  • If possible, get the agreement checked by a lawyer for any missing or hidden charges and get the anomalies (if any) rectified by the builder.
  • If the extra charges are for alterations made to the original plan, ask the builder for the sanction letter provided by government authorities for such alterations.

Point 2 - Actual size of the house
The agreement would clearly mention the size of the house you are purchasing. However, there is a clause which states ‘…the plans, designs, and specifications are tentative and the developer reserves the right to make variations and modifications….’. Therefore, you may agree for a certain size, but the builder can give a different size.

Measures to take
  • Before freezing on your choice of a builder, do some research about the builder’s past projects.
  • If possible, talk with other buyers who already have got possession about problems faced by them
  • Try and include a clause in the agreement stating the minimum and maximum size beyond which the builder cannot increase or decrease.

Point 3 - Carpet Area
The area of an apartment or building, not inclusive of the area of the walls is known as carpet area. This is the area in which literally a ‘carpet’ can be laid. When the area of the walls including the balcony is calculated along with the carpet area, it is known as built-up area. The built-up area along with the area under common spaces like lobby, lifts, stairs, garden and swimming pool is called super built-up area. The carpet area can be 15-30 percent less than the super built-up area. However, you will not come to know the exact size until the flat constructions is completed.

Measures to take
  • Purchase the property based on the carpet area of the flat.
  • Ensure that this area is mentioned in the agreement.
  • Try to get a clause included which will ensure that the contract can be terminated if the builder provides a house with the carpet area less than what is mentioned in the contract.

Point 4 - Date of Possession
The agreement normally mentions a tentative date of possession. However, there have been instances where builders have delayed possession by more than a year.

Measure to take
  • Check the progress of the construction personally.
  • If the progress is slow and would not meet the date of possession in a timely manner, build pressure on the builder.
  • Forming a society with other buyers sometimes helps a lot in getting things to speed up at the builders end.

Point 5 - Completion certificate
On handing over the house to you, the builder needs to also give a Completion certificate. a completion certificate is issued by municipal authorities which establishes that the building complies with the approved plan. You would need this certificate for registration of your house and other government formalities.

Measures to take
If the agreement does not mention the certificate, ensure that the agreement has a clause which states that the builder will provide the certificate while handling over the house to you.

If the builder delays a lot, forming a society with other buyers sometimes helps a lot.
Other than these five points there more points such as the quality of the construction, management of the society etc. For this you can try to add clauses to the agreement or form a society to get the builder to meet your demands. Since there is no industry regulator you can turn to for the redressal of issues, it is important that you are aware of what you want and what you are getting.

Personal loan Vs Loan against property

You may have a lot on your mind when it comes to sending your children for education abroad or maybe finance your business or even finance your child’s wedding. The first thing that would come into the mind of most of us is, ‘Where would I get the money from?’
There are many ways you could arrange for money, and one of those ways is taking a loan. You could take a personal loan for the amount required, or you could take a loan against your property.

What is a loan against property?

A loan against property (LAP) is exactly what the name implies - a loan given or disbursed against the mortgage of property. The loan is given as a certain percentage of the property’s market value, usually around 40% - 60%. Loan against Property belongs to the secured loan category where the borrower gives a guarantee by using his property as security.

What purposes can I take a loan against property for?
Loan against Property can be taken for following purposes:
  • Expanding your business
  • Getting your son/daughter married
  • Sending your son/daughter for higher studies abroad
  • Funding your dream vacation
  • Funding medical treatments
What kind of properties can I mortgage for a loan?

You can normally take a loan against your self-occupied or rented residential property. This could be a house or even a piece of land.

What is the eligibility criteria to get a loan against property?

This criteria will vary from one bank to another. However, from all the host of factors, the common factors that all banks look at are:
  • Your income, savings, debt obligations
  • Cost/value of the property mortgaged
  • Your repayment track record for other loans, credit cards etc.
What are the normal interest rates and tenure for repayment offered for a loan against property?

Interest rates on loan against property range from 12% -15.75% and the loan tenure can be up to 15 years.

How is a loan against property different from a personal loan?
Loan Against Property
Personal Loan
The individual takes the loan by mortgaging the house property
An individual can take a personal loan for personal use without any security or guarantor
One of the cheapest retail loans after home loans; usually in the range of 12% - 16%
Higher interest rates compared to LAP; usually issued at interest rates in the range of 16% - 21%
Since the rate of interest is lower, frequently LAP Equated Monthly Installments (EMI) turn out cheaper
Since the rate of interest is high, the Equated Monthly Installments (EMI) for personal loans are high
Maximum loan eligibility is determined primarily by the value of the property and income
Maximum loan eligibility is determined primarily by an individual’s income
Maximum loan tenure for LAP is up to 15 years (180 months)
Maximum loan tenure for personal loan is up to 5 years (60 months)
Secured loan
Unsecured loan
What documents are required for applying for a loan against property?
Most banks and financial institutions typically require the following documents. However, this list may vary from bank to bank.
Salaried Customers
Self Employed Professionals

A loan against property is one of the best ways to raise money. The only disadvantage of such a loan is that if the borrower is not able to pay the loan fully, the bank or the financial institution can take possession of the mortgaged property. Base your decision on your repaying capabilities.

The Mahatma Gandhi Series of banknotes contain the Mahatma Gandhi watermark with a light and shade effect and multi-directional lines in the watermark window.

Security Thread

Rs.1000 notes introduced in October 2000 contain a readable, windowed security thread alternately visible on the obverse with the inscriptions ‘Bharat’ (in Hindi), ‘1000’ and ‘RBI’, but totally embedded on the reverse. The Rs.500 and Rs.100 notes have a security thread with similar visible features and inscription ‘Bharat’ (in Hindi), and ‘RBI’. When held against the light, the security thread on Rs.1000, Rs.500 and Rs.100 can be seen as one continuous line. The Rs.5, Rs.10, Rs.20 and Rs.50 notes contain a readable, fully embedded windowed security thread with the inscription ‘Bharat’ (in Hindi), and ‘RBI’. The security thread appears to the left of the Mahatma's portrait. Notes issued prior to the introduction of the Mahatma Gandhi Series have a plain, non-readable fully embedded security thread.

Latent Image

On the obverse side of Rs.1000, Rs.500, Rs.100, Rs.50 and Rs.20 notes, a vertical band on the right side of the Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait contains a latent image showing the respective denominational value in numeral. The latent image is visible only when the note is held horizontally at eye level.

Microlettering

This feature appears between the vertical band and Mahatma Gandhi portrait. It contains the word ‘RBI’ in Rs.5 and Rs.10. The notes of Rs.20 and above also contain the denominational value of the notes in microletters. This feature can be seen better under a magnifying glass.

Printing and circulation of forged notes are offences under Sections 489A to 489E of the Indian Penal Code and are punishable in the courts of law by fine or imprisonment or both.

Simple but Powerful Secrets of Success

The following 10 simple but powerful secrets of success can dramatically change your life for the better.
When you infuse these secrets into your life and make them part of your daily life, you are bound to succeed in whatever you set yourself to do.
The secrets are hereby revealed!

  1. Follow your passion.
Passion is a strong feeling of excitement about something or someone. If for example you are passionate about your job you tend to do it better than anyone else. You add your own flavor or signature and others are bound to notice. Successful people all over the world, in all industries and all types of sports or arts have managed to find their passion. In so doing they tend to rise above ordinary achievers.
Do yourself a favor by striking conversation with anyone that you consider to be successful. Direct your conversation to what they do. You will feel the positive energy when they start telling you about what they do. This positive energy is fueled by passion.
  2. Use you talent or talents.
Every one of us has at least one thing that they can do better than anyone else in the whole universe. Like our finger prints we are all unique in one way or the other. Successful people have managed to identify their unique talent or talents. They use their talents not only to advance themselves but also to provide service to humanity.
Some people are fortunate to have managed to identify their talents earlier in their lives. Some do manage to find their talents in their senior years. Irrespective, it is never too late to identify your unique talent and use it to benefit yourself, your family, you community and everyone else.

  3. Find your niche.
You have to offer your clients, recipients or consumers of your services something unique. Copying or imitating someone else it has never been a good strategy. After all you will never be able to comprehensively understand and implement other people's ideas without them revealing their secrets to you.
When you persist on the road of imitation you are not only cheating yourself but you may get hurt in the long run. By the way imitators live other people dreams and successful people bring their own flavor to the market.

  4. Habitually think positive thoughts.
Nothing positive will come out a mind full of negative thoughts. If you continuously think of failure, you bound to find it at your doorstep. Put yourself in a state where your mind is full of positive thoughts.
Successful people are the most positive people you can ever come across. Their positive outlook is not only confined in what they do, they have a general positive outlook in politics, economy, relationships and so forth.

  5. Know what you want.
Get into the mode of setting your own goals. Know exactly where you are going, how you going to get there and when are you going to get there. Your goals must be SMARTE i.e. Simple - Measurable - Achievable - Realistic - Time based - Exciting.
Just like successful people, get into the habit of setting SMARTE goals and you will be amazed at what you can achieve.

  6. Take action.
It is commendable to have plans, "smarte" goals and dreams but if you are lazy to act, you are going nowhere. You have get out there and make things happen if you want your life to change for the better. However before acting you must have a clearly defined plan. Without a plan your action will yield nothing desirable to you.
Successful people work smart, follow their dream and are guided by their goals. Some of them work long hours, but that is only because they enjoy what they do.

  7. Be persistent.
History is littered with intelligent, talented and highly educated people who amounted to nothing. Most of these people came up with brilliant ideas or were involved in ventures that could have revolutionized our history. Their only downfall is lack of persistence; they gave up too easily, too soon.
The world over, successful people are persistent. It is easy too see why. They are passionate, they operate within their niche and they use their unique talents well.

  8. Have integrity.
Integrity is the most important character or trait of successful people. You have to be honest, upfront and upright in your dealings. In this way you live with clean conscience. Successful people have mastered the art of communicating their vision well to others, e.g. employees, financiers, customers or family members. They have done so because they have realized that in order to succeed others have to buy into their vision.
  9. Learn the art of communication. Experts tell us that communication consist of 7% words, 38% tone of our voice and 55% body language. Learn to hear, see, understand and use all components of communication to your advantage.

Life long learning is the key. The biggest challenge of our times is not literacy or the ability to count, but is the ability to learn, unlearn and re-learn always. To stay on top of your game, you have to consciously improve yourself in order to stay abreast of the changes in your operational area.
Successful people can foresee change in their niche long before ordinary people experience that change. In this way they manage to plan and benefit from changing conditions in their niche.

Innovate: A crisis is a great time to innovate, when you may have to think of ways of staying ahead of the competition, of being more efficient, of coming up with different marketing or product bundling ideas. Great innovative ideas originate at war times; likewise, wonderful business schemes come up to one's mind during challenging economic times.

Execute ruthlessly: The best strategic and business plans are worthless without proper execution. Focus ruthlessly on execution and keep an eye for details. Keep your eyes and ears open to your customers and follow up with them for their needs. Execute on your account plans without letting a day of plan slip out of schedule. If a customer has informed you to call them on a particular day, don't slip on that. If you don't execute on your plans, your competitor will do. Be paranoid about execution.

Leverage the team: As a sales person, you should be constantly leveraging the organization's resources to win deals. This is the time to focus clearly on leveraging all the resources at hand. Ask for input, both internal and external, partner the sales and tech teams, and utilize the marketing and back office personnel like a customer care team. They might know where the biggest opportunities or real efficiencies exist. Ask them, act on their recommendations, and recognize them for their ideas.

Act fast: Analyze your work and look at the time taken for each activity. Reduce the time taken for each action by 25-50 percent. If you used to take 6 hours before to send out a quote to the customer, now try to do it in 3 hours by working effectively and by leveraging all the resources. If you would normally take 3 hours to fix up meetings for the day, do the work a few days in advance so that each day has a clear direction and pre-appointed customers to meet. When this is done, it provides you with a competitive advantage.

Educate your eco-system: Talk to your eco-system of partners, service providers, and vendors. Make them understand the changing landscape as it pertains to your industry, and instill in them a sense of urgency. Leverage their knowledge and help them to improve their efficiency. Work with their sales teams and be a leader to them.

These 7 rules apply to your daily and regular sales days as well. But in tough times it really pays to follow these simple basic rules and implement them.
