Google offers Transliteration Tool

Type in Malayalam While Offline With Google Transliteration IME


Do you want to enter text in Malayalam/ Tamil? Google has launched its transliteration IME , which enables users to write in 14 languages.It allows people using an English language keyboard to type in the local language.Users can type a word the way it sounds using Latin characters and Google Transliteration IME will convert the word to its native script.

Google IME operates as a small bar that by default will be placed at the bottom right corner of your desktop ,which can also be moved around. It has four icons with leftmost being the application icon. Next to it are IME language indicator button, keyboard button and menu button in that order

You can customize many features through IME's menu.

Select the font and size to be used to display the choices in IME language inside edit window (Suggestion Font).

Select the font and size to be used to display the English/Roman characters inside edit window.

Set the page size for edit window to restrict its size through number of choices.

Enable or disable the persistence of user cache.

COD - cash on delivery, where a person makes payment for an item purchase after it has been delivered.

e.g . - exempli gratia (for example)

et al. - et alii (and others). Usually used to list co-authors after the lead author in a bibliography, this form is now popularly used to address the other people other than the recipient in e-mails.

Shirdi Sai Darshanam

I have the blessings of Sai Baba to make a visit to shirdi on the 1st of November and get blessings.

We first went to Panchmukhi Vishnu ganapathy and after ashtithara archana, we left to upasana (sakura)math. Both the above places were serene and full of devotional atmosphere and very simple.

Then we visited Khandoba Mandir and in the aftenoon, we visited Chavdi and Dwarkamai. Then in the evening, we went for Baba Darshan.

Cough Remedies - HOME MADE

A cough can be caused by inflammation of the larynx or the pharynx. A cough can build up in the chest due to modification in weather or seasonal changes.
Blockage of the bronchial tubes with waste matter
The real cause of this disorder is clogging of the bronchial tubes with waste substance. This is due to incorrect feeding habits. The reason for upper incidence of cough during winter than in other seasons is that an standard person usually eats more of catarrh-forming foods such as white bread, meat, sugar, porridge, puddings, and pies during the colder months of the year. Being over clothed with heavy undergarments and other garments during this period also avoids proper aeration of the skin.


Cough treatment with Grapes
Grapes are one of the most successful home remedies for the treatment of a cough. Grapes tone up the lungs and act as an expectorant, relieving an easy cold and cough in a couple of days. A cup of grape juice mixed with a teaspoon of honey is recommended for cough relief. One of the best home remedies for cough.
Cough treatment with Almonds
Almonds are helpful for dry coughs. Seven kernels must be soaked in water overnight and the brown skin removed. They must then be ground well to form a well paste. A quantity of twenty grams each of butter and sugar must be added to the paste. This paste must be taken in the morning and evening.
Cough treatment via Onion
The use of raw onion is precious in a cough. This vegetable must be chopped fine and the juice removed from it. One teaspoon of the juice must then be mixed with one teaspoon of honey and reserved for four or five hours-it will make an admirable cough syrup and should be taken two times daily. Onions are also helpful in removing phelgm. A medium-sized onion must be crushed, the juice of one lemon added to it, and then one cup of boiling water poured on it. A teaspoon of honey can be added in it for taste. This medicine should be taken two or three times a day. One of the effective home remedies for cough.
Cough treatment with Turmeric
The root of the turmeric plant is valuable in a dry cough. The root must he roasted and powdered. This powder should be taken in three-gram doses two times daily, in the morning and evening.
Cough treatment with Belleric Myroblan
The herb belleric myroblan is a homebased remedy for a cough. A mixture comprising two grams of the pulp of the fruit, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of long pepper, and 2 teaspoons of honey should be managed for the treatment of this condition twice daily. The dried fruit enclosed with wheat flour and roasted , is another well-liked remedy for cough condition. One of the useful home remedies for cough.
Cough treatment by means of Raisins
A sauce prepared from raisins is also valuable in a cough. This sauce is prepared by crushing 100 gm of raisins with water. About 100 gm of sugar must be mixed with it and the mixture heated. When the mixture attains a sauce-like consistency, it should be preserved. Twenty grams must be taken at bedtime every day. One of the popular home remedies for cough.

Aniseed is another effective remedy for a hard dry cough with hard expectoration. It might breaks up the mucus. A tea made from this spice must be taken on a regular basis for treating this condition One of the simple home remedies for cough.
Dietaries for Cough
Orange juice and water
In the case of a severe cough, the patient should fast on orange juice and water till the severity is decreased. The process is to take the juice of an orange diluted in a cup of warm water, every two hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
All-fruit diet
After the juice fast, the patient must adopt an all-fruit diet for two or three days. In case of a mild cough, the patient can start with an all-fruit diet for five to seven days, taking three meals a day of fresh juicy fruits such as apples, pears, grapes, grape-fruit, oranges, pineapples, peaches, and melons. For drinks, unsweetened lemon water, or cold or hot simple water may be given.
Well-balanced diet with stress on wholegrain cereals, lightly cooked vegetables
Following the all-fruit diet, the patient must follow a well-balanced diet, with importance on wholegrain cereals, raw or lightly cooked vegetables, and fresh fruits.
Stay away from tea, coffee, refined and processed foods
The patient should avoid meats, sugar, tea, coffee, condiments, refined and processed foods. He must avoid soft drinks, candies, ice cream, and all products made from sugar.
Other Cough treatments
Warm-water enema
While the cough is severe, a warm-water enema should be used daily to cleanse the bowels.

Recipe For Candy Bars like Kit Kat Bars

Ingredients:

3 wrapped packs from club crackers divided (Waverly)
1 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups crushed graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butterscotch chips
2/3 cups peanut butter
Preparation:

Spray a 13x9x2-inch pan with cooking spray and line bottom with a single layer of crackers. Combine butter, sugars, graham cracker crumbs and milk in saucepan; bring to boil over medium heat and boil 5 minutes. Pour half of the sauce over crackers, then place another layer of crackers over the sauce. Pour remaining sauce over crackers, then arrange the third layer of crackers over sauce. In a saucepan combine chocolate and butterscotch chips, and peanut butter over low heat, stirring until smooth. Pour over top layer of crackers. Refrigerate until sauce is hardened. Cut into squares.
Makes about 20.

Evolution of Windows Operating System

It all began in Plaza Hotel, New York City on the 10th of November 1983. Two Microsoft founders Paul Allen and Bill Gates officially announced their corporation’s first and next-generation graphical user interface operating system – Microsoft Windows.

Windows 2.03 (1987)

Taking advantage of the speed of Intel 286/386 processor at that time, Windows 2.03 is a replacement for Windows 1.x. It also starts the era where users are able to overlap windows, customize screens, etc. Still the entire operating system cost no more than 2.5Mb.


Windows 2.86 (1989)

Windows 3.0 (1990)

Windows NT Server 4.0 (1996)

Windows 98 (1998)

Conversion of Numbers of Different Bases to Decimals

Consider the number 97531.

This is really: 9×10000 + 7×1000 + 5×100 + 3×10 + 1.

This can also be written as: 9×104 + 7×103 + 5×102 + 3×101 + 1×100.

There is nothing special about why we use base 10 except that humans have ten fingers.


In the world of electronics, the natural base is two, because it only has two states: on and off. We use “1” to signify on, and “0” to signify off. This is referred to as the “binary system.”

Example 1: Consider the binary number 1101011001.

To convert this to its decimal equivalent, we rewrite it as:
1×29 + 1×28 + 0×27 + 1×26 + 0× 25 + 1×24 + 1×23 + 0×22 + 0×21 + 1×20.

Or:
1×512 +1× 256 + 0×128 + 1×64 + 0×32 + 1×16 + 1×8 + 0×4 + 0×2 + 1 = 857.

Suppose we were to use another base, say “b.” That would mean that the numbers representing the amounts multiplying their powers would range from “0” to one less that the base, i.e. “b-1.” For example, in base ten, these numbers range from “0” to “9.” That is why in base two we only have “0” and “1.” The commonly used base in Information science is base sixteen, or hexadecimal (“hex” means six and “deci” refers to tenth).



Example 2: Consider the base four number (1023)4. Notice the numbers range between “0” and “3,” the subscript “4” indicates the base of the number.

Notice that we have chosen bases that are powers of two. Those are the numbers that followed the progression within computer science. Because it is more convenient to use higher bases to represent quantities because it requires less space, or slots, to do so. The final base that the computational progression settled on was base sixteen or hexadecimal. Using base16, the range of numbers multiplying the powers of the base have to range between “0” and “fifteen.” However, it was decided to represent the amounts from “ten” to “fifteen” by the letter A, B, C, D, E and F (i.e. A=10, B=11, C=12, D=13, C=14 and F=15).

Most of the hexadecimal numbers used in computer math will only have two places, thus representing numbers from 0 to FF (or 0 to 255).

Notice how when you divide each dividend the remainder is the quantity that multiplies the base to the next lower power. And when you have a quotient of “0” you have finished, and the final remainder is the quantity that multiplies the highest powered base.

Tips for share traders for making money in day trading

1. Remember to use the stop loss efficiently while day trading.


2. If the stock market is trading in positive direction as compared to the previous day and one is short in a stock, than one can safely close the open position. The same is true other way also i.e. if one is long in a stock overnight and stock market is trading in positive as compared to previous close, than one can contemplate buying additional quantity of stock.

3. Benefit being contrarians in day trading in share market.

4. If the stock market is trading in a negative direction than remember to go short in the stocks which are trading in negative side and do not go short in those stocks which are trading in positive direction.

Indian IPOs clicks active button in Share Market

IPO has started hitting Indian share market again.

With NHPC at Rs.36/- listed on 3 sep 2009, the market has started to show marks of recovery.

Jindal Cotex IPO is going to list on 22 September, 2009


Pipavav Shipping is going on at a range of Rs. 55/- to Rs. 60/-.

Euro Multivision Ltd. is an IPO which is coming wef 22 Sep 2009 and its price has been fixed at Rs.70/- to Rs.75/- per equity share and is coming with a face value of Rs.10/- per equity share. One can apply with a minimum bid of 90 equity shares and in multiples thereof.



Another IPO knocking on the door is Thinksoft Global Services Ltd. which is coming with a face value of Rs 10 and it has a price band fixed at Rs.120/- to Rs.130/- per equity share. One can apply in multiples of 50 equity shares.

I think the Indian Market has again became active for those players who play in IPO to make a quick profit.

Term Plan is The Best Plan


The primary objective of life insurance is to provide financial protection for your family in case of policy holder’s death. It helps you to ensure that your family and loved ones will have sufficient money to fulfill their needs in your absence also.  

Term plan is the pure form of life insurance or in other words we can tell that it is a pure risk cover plan in which the insured pays a lower premium for a higher sum assured. Term insurance is the cheapest among other forms of life insurance; it helps the policy holder to insure himself for a larger amount at a relatively low premium. As we mentioned earlier insurance is not a place to park your investments, the ultimate objective of insurance is to provide financial assistance to your family in your absence. But here the charges will be very high because these plans will impose allocation charge, fund management charge, etc. apart from the mortality charges and administration charges.

Group Discussions
Group Discussion or GD as is commonly referred to, is akin to a football game, where one has to shine himself/herself as well as take the team along.


A Group Discussion at a B-School is normally a formal discussion involving ten to 12 participants in a group. They are given a topic. After about 3-4 minutes, during which time they (the participants) collect their thoughts, the group is asked to discuss the topic for 20 to 25 minutes. B-Schools use the GD process to assess a candidate's personality traits.
